Meadow Brome (Bromus commutatus)
 
Annual and biennial grows up to 90cm high
 
 
 


Description:  Tufted plant, with seeding culms.

Flower:  The panicle is generally erect, and can be slightly nodding.  Spikelets are many flowered up to 8mm long, and separating at maturity.

Significance:  Increasingly becoming a problem on field margins, and spreading into arable crops. Commonly causes lodging in cereals.
