Rye Brome


Rye Brome (Bromus secalinus)
 
Biennial, grows up to 90cm high.
 
 
 


Description:  Tufted grass, erect with spirally twisted leaves.

Flower:  An erect lax panicle, many spikelets and flowers, spikelets nod after flowering.

Significance:  Mainly a problem in cereals and other arable crops.  A problem in parts of East Anglia, becoming increasingly common.
