Creeping Soft Grass (Holcus mollis)
 
Perennial, grows up to 1m high.
 
 
 
 


Character:  Tufted stems usually erect, but soft drooping leaves.  Has short, strong creeping rhizomes. The panicles are compact, but spread when flowering.  Usually white/green, or yellow/brown in colour can have red tint.

Significance:  Frequent on arable land and rough pasture.  Survives on poor soil.
