Roundup Amenity

Overview

Roundup Amenity herbicide is an aqueous solution containing 360 g/l glyphosate, a herbicide which is taken up by foliage and translocated to root systems. It is recommended for control of annual and perennial grasses and broad-leaved weeds in non-crop areas such as roadsides, paths, hard surfaces and along fences and walls. It is recommended for cleaning up weedy ground prior to planting or sowing, for total weed control on industrial sites and for aquatic weed control. Roundup Amenity herbicide may also be used as a directed spray in ornamental plantings, and in forestry for site preparation and post planting treatments.

Apply Roundup Amenity herbicide when there is full emergence of grasses and broad-leaved weeds and they have ACTIVELY GROWING green leaves. All weeds should be treated when they are actively growing and before growth slows down or stops in the autumn, otherwise some regrowth can occur.

Couch-grass and perennial grasses should have 4 to 5 leaves, 10-15 cm (4-6 inches) in length, per shoot before treatment. Annual broad-leaved weeds should be at the two true-leaf stage or beyond. Annual grasses should be at the 1 leaf stage or beyond. Perennial Broad-leaved weeds should be treated after the start of flowering. Horsetails (Equisetum arvense) will need a repeat treatment.

Symptoms on the weeds: These are seen 7-10 days, or longer (if growth is slow), after spraying. Leaves first redden then go yellow, this is quicker on grasses than on broad-leaved weeds. Reaction of nettles is slow.

IMPORTANT: For optimum results, weeds must be undisturbed with no further treatment or cultivation for 7 days. Allow 2-3 weeks for symptoms to appear - re-treat any unaffected plants using spot treatments.

Effect of weather: A period without rain of at least 6 hours, and preferably 24 hours, must follow application. Do not spray in windy conditions as drift onto desired plants or crops could severely damage or destroy them. Do not spray on to weeds suffering from drought, waterlogging, heat or frost, otherwise poor control may result.

Always read the label. Use pesticides safely. Roundup Biactive, Roundup Max, Roundup Ultra ST and Roundup Gold contain glyphosate. Monitor contains sulfosulfuron. Latitude contains silthiofam. Ramrod contains propachlor.
