Latitude Mode of Action

LatitudeŽ contains silthiofam, the first of a new generation of fungicides (the hindered silyl amide group), designed specifically for the control of take-all. It has a novel mode of action that disrupts fungal energy production and is highly active against take-all at a low application rate. There is no effect on crop emergence or vigour, even when tested at four times the recommended rate of application. It is has no negative effects on some of the key beneficial organisms responsible for take-all decline. The active ingredient moves rapidly off the seed, but slowly through the soil, creating a zone of protection around the developing roots. Each seedling is protected, leading to better root development and a stronger plant. LatitudeŽ is effective at all seed rates.
