Risk Assessment
Latitude use on Winter Wheat

In over 800 UK and European trials over the last 5 years LatitudeŽ has shown it can recover half to 2/3rds of the yield lost to take-all, moving yields closer to that of first wheats. It is likely to be cost-effective wherever there is take-all problem.

It also improves grain quality, and Monsanto trials show average specific weights have been improved by 1-2kg/hl where take-all is present.

Product comparison
Monsanto and independent trials over 5 years showed a 2-fold differential between fluquinconazole and LatitudeŽ as regards root rot control, whitehead reduction and yield recovery. Below is some experience from trials in 2002.

Take-all Disease Progression

Not only did LatitudeŽ set back disease progression better than competitors it also delivered higher yield; Sibutol yielded 7.08 t/ha, LatitudeŽ gave a 13% yield increase, compared with a 6% yield increase from fluquinconazole.
