Final Uk Avadex Allocation Arrangements Announced

June 03, 2003 - Monsanto UK and its distributors have finalised arrangements for the fair and equitable allocation of the remaining stocks of Avadex 15G following the closure of the world’s only triallate manufacturing facility.

All stocks of the finished product are being allocated to existing Avadex distributors for the month of June in strict proportion to 2002 usage, enabling them to run special early-ordering schemes for existing users throughout the month. At the end of June all product not sold to growers will be pooled and made available through distribution on a first-come, first-served basis.

“The stocks of Avadex 15G we’ve been able to secure from the remaining worldwide triallate inventory are sufficient to meet the bulk of autumn demand at 2002 levels,” explained Monsanto UK Herbicides Marketing Manager, SiÔn Price. “With no additional product available from anywhere, however, the supply situation is likely to be tighter than last year.

“With our distributors, we are committed to doing whatever we can to support long-standing Avadex users. Hence the arrangements we’ve put in place to allow them to secure their supplies comfortably ahead of general marketing.”

Under these circumstances, SiÔn Price strongly advises all those keen to secure Avadex 15G for the coming autumn to contact their normal suppliers as a matter of urgency before the end of June.

“Users can be assured we are maintaining Avadex 15G’s European registration to support continued farm use for the foreseeable future,” he pointed out. “We are also continuing to explore a range of options with the industry that may secure the future of the triallate molecule beyond this season.”
